1) Are PVC or timber plantation shutters the best?
Both synthetic PVC and timber plantation shutters have pros and cons with each product performing better in certain areas of the home or office. For example, PVC work better in wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries. Whereas timber plantation are lighter allowing them to achieve more in terms of panel shape and frame size. Both timber and synthetic PVC shutters are equal in durability.

2) Are timber shutters a sustainable option?
Sustainable practices are a key part of the Simply Shutters, Awnings and Blinds ethos. Our timber shutters are made from sustainably sourced Basswood from plantation grown Indonesian hardwood.
3) What do I do if my timber shutters split, crack, or warp?
Twisting warping and damages of the same nature come down to the quality of the product you have installed. Rest assured the quality of your product from Simply Shutters, Awnings and Blinds is nothing short of the best and comes with a 15-year structural warranty guarantee.
4) Will my PVC shutters eventually sag and turn yellow?
Unfortunately, PVC shutters do eventually begin to sag and yellow, albeit around 10 years. This is why at Simply Shutters, Awnings and Blinds we recommend our custom-made timber shutters for longevity.
5) Which are the best Ziptrak or Zipscreen awnings?
Zipscreen is a coastal certified full aluminium product whereas Ziptrak products are still manufactured using galvanised parts, so eventually, these will rust. Ultimately Zipscreen provides a neater finished product thanks to the patented zLOCK technology.

6) Is there a guarantee, or warranty if I buy blinds?
All our internal custom made and installed blinds come with a 5-year warranty with all fabric scotch guarded and anti-static treated to prevent dust collection. For more information regarding warranties on our product range, you can contact us here.
7) What are the timber shutters treated with?
Our timber shutters are polyurethane coated and kiln dried. This achieves a flatter neater finish that also controls the moisture levels of your timber shutters.
8) What payment options do you offer?
At Simply Shutters, Awning and Blinds we require an initial deposit of 50% with the final 50% payable on completion of your installation. As our range is affordable, we do not offer payment plans. We do however accept all cards except AMEX.
9) Where do your products come from?
All of our blinds and awnings are Australian made products. This provides us with shorter turnaround time in production whilst also achieving a high-quality finish. Another benefit of sourcing our products within Australia is the Australian standard powder coating, ensuring your product withstands the harsh salt spray that our coastal towns endure.
10) Is there anything I should know in preparation for installation?
In anticipation of our arrival we appreciate it if you are able to boil the jug, prepare a large mug with a teaspoon of coffee, two teaspoons of sugar, a dash of milk and a bikkie on the side if you have one.
